About Us

Beginnings

Hayling Detect is a metal detecting club based on Hayling Island, Hampshire which is along the South Coast of England. The club was founded in April 2022 by Wayne Trumper who had the idea of starting the club after talking to some local detectorists and soon realised a club was needed in the area.

Wayne approached a well established metal detecting club, the South East Searchers, for some advice and they kindly assisted Hayling Detect in obtaining its first permission.

Hayling Detect now successfully runs regular digs in and around Hampshire, with our membership steadily growing.  We also hold occasional open digs.

As the club progresses, more land will be required, so any members that can source land for the club will be rewarded.  We will endeavour to run an open and honest club with full transparency on anything that happens within the club.

Monthly meetings will be held so club members can put forward ideas or raise any concerns.

The membership package includes the club’s rules and regulations, it is very important all regulations are adhered to as failure to do so could cost the club its permissions.
